Today I heard story of one of the leaders of the peasant revolt: Arnold Schwarz. He was born in the small ogre village north from town Altemarkt in Hohlehugel hills around the year II/597. One day there was „spontaneous” attacks on ogres village. Peasants blamed ogres for helping orcs, with peasants were mercenaries armed with crossbows. After the attack peasant women, Maria Schwarz went there to see what's left. She found small ogre boy hiding in half burned house. Maria took him home to Braunwald. She had one daughter already, Sofia. Her husband died few years earlier.
Arnold grown to be a big and strong boy. In year 613, when he was sixteen, his adopted mum Maria Schwarz died for some illness. She was a healer but she was not able to cure herself. After her funeral Arnold decided to find his real parents. For many days he was walking through hills and forests and finally he found a group of ogres who escaped his village during peasant's attack. His father's name was Burab. Burab with few other ogres defended village from peasants and gave others time to escape. Mercenaries shot Burab and others. His mother died few days later from wounds and sadness for loosing her family, as she thought that her son died in the fire.
Ogres gave Arnold what left from Burab: his old chainmail shirt, knife and old, big wooden mace.
After returning from hills Arnold joined local militia unit in Altemarkt. About year later his unit was enlisted to fight against heretic rebels from the north. He marched under prince Albert Gross von Ulm to defend village Weiskirche. During that victorious battle Arnold lost two fingers in left hand. He also received other wounds. After his army moved from this village he was left behind with other wounded soldiers. Young ogre women took care of him. Her name was Jasmine but she was also called Rotkappchen as she had red hood. She was refugee from the north.
Few weeks later Weiskirche was attacked again by rebels and burned down. After that raid Arnold and Jasmine decided to move west, back to Arnold's home village Braunwald.
Arnold took up work as a woodcutter like most of man in this forest village. Then came news that king Helmut Gross von Ulm died during battle with Midlanders.
For whole area came dark times. Bishop Adam Schulz become the new local ruler. He immediately raised taxes. Also employed many mercenaries to protect his tax collectors and terrorized local population. Peasants started to organise themselves into rebellious bands. It didn't took long and tax collector with his guards visited the Braunwald. He had mercenaries from notorious Von Berg's Company as guards...
So in the year 619 the peasant revolt started. Arnold become leader of group of rebels called Braunwald Militia. The other members I know about are Sofia Schwarz, Bobur Schmidt (big forest), Hataruc Schmidt (home spider), Kufikono (old horse)” Korwin Chronicle
